Why do implants need two trips?
An implant needs three to four months to bond with the bone before it can carry a final tooth. You go home with a temporary tooth and come back for the final crown or bridge.
How should I book flights?
Wait for your written plan, which lists the appointment days. Arrive the day before the first appointment, and leave the day after the last one, so there is time for a final check.
What do I do on free days?
Rest, the old town of Kaleiçi, the coast, or a boat trip. On days after preparation or surgery, avoid very hot sun and heavy exercise; your doctor tells you what applies to you.
What does a typical veneer week look like?
Day 1 is for arriving. Day 2 is the examination, scans and the smile preview. Day 3 is preparation, and you leave with temporary veneers. Days 4 and 5 are free while the ceramist layers your veneers in the lab. On day 6 you try them in, ask for any changes, and they are fitted. You fly home the next day. Our veneers page shows the plan in detail.
How much time off work do I need?
For whitening, bonding, veneers and crowns, most people are back at work the day after they fly home. After implant surgery, most people need three or four days before they feel ready for work, and after All-on-4 four or five days. Your doctor tells you what applies to you.
Can I work remotely during treatment?
Many people do. Clinic appointments usually take two or three hours in the morning, so afternoons are free. On the day of preparation or surgery, plan to rest rather than work.
Can I fly straight after treatment?
After veneers, crowns, whitening or bonding, yes, usually the day after the final visit. After implant surgery, the doctor checks healing first, usually on day 4, and confirms that you can fly. Avoid booking a flight on the same day as a final appointment.
Which time of year suits treatment?
Spring and autumn are warm and calmer, with plenty of direct flights. July and August are hot and busy, and hotels cost more. Winter is mild and quiet, with fewer direct flights. Our guide on Antalya or Istanbul compares the practical side of travel.
What if the plan changes once I am there?
Sometimes the examination shows something that needs attention first, such as gum inflammation or an old filling. If that adds a visit or a night, the doctor explains why and what it changes before anything is done, and nothing is added without your written agreement. Booking a flexible return flight gives you a little room.
Which days should I keep quiet?
The day of preparation or surgery, and the day after. Plan a short walk, a meal by the sea and an early night rather than a long excursion. Keep the free days in the middle of your stay for trips, so you are rested for the try-in or the final fitting.
